Persepsi Masyarakat Lokal terhadap Tumbuhan Berkhasiat Obat di Hutan Pendidikan Gunung Damar Universitas Gorontalo

Abstract: The knowledge society is a medicinal plant heritage from
generation to generation until today. But with the birth of a new
generation more familiar with modern medicine, loss of forest area,
making it an endangered heritage. Various types of plants used as
potential drugs are wild plants such as shrubs growing in the woods or
fields or the former that have been developed. The abundance of
medicinal plant species diversity is a source of raw materials that contain
several chemical components, are in the leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds,
roots and bark. These biodiversity resources can be used, cultivated and
developed by the community. This study aims to assess the public's
knowledge about medicinal plants by type, how to use and usefulness,
and knowing the community's perception and appreciation of medicinal
plants. Conducted research locations around the area of Hutan
Pendidikan Gunung damar University of Gorontalo, Village of South
Dulamayo, subdistrict of Telaga Biru, Regency Gorontalo, Province
Gorontalo, lasted for 1 (one) month in May to June 2007. The data was
collected by survey method, using the method of analysis parameters and
indicators. Medicinal plants known and used by villagers and the Village
of South Dulamayo and North Dulamayo approximately 44 species of
plants. Results of analysis showed: (a). Public knowledge of the
community in the use of medicinal plants derived from a common
hereditary everyday use; (b). Medicinal plant parts used by the public
consists of the roots, leaves, seeds, fruits, flowers, sap, wood bark, roots
and all parts, whose use in the singular and mixed and mixed live (drunk
straight, on the chew, digosokan , is applied and attached to the body of a
sick or diseased) or indirectly (boiled, crushed, crushed, shredded,
scraped off and heated); (c). Public perception of medicinal plants by
villagers and the village of South Dulamayo North Dulamayo included in
either category very well up to (d). Public appreciation of medicinal
plants began to decrease, caused by the declining interest in and
knowledge of medicinal plants themselves, especially for the younger
generation
