Abstract: The objective of the study was to analyze food availability
planning based on carrying capacity to fulfill consumption demand in
lebak district. The research design was a crossectional and retrosfective
study.This research was conducted in 2 sub district in Lebak Distrct, from
April-Augustus 2008. Systematic stratified random samplings were
applied to select 110 households. The data collected include primary
data: socio economic, food consumption, and secondary data: food
production. The results showed that on 2008 level of energy consumption
is 152.2% (normal category), but score of desirable dietary pattern (DDP)
only 47.3.Based on data on 2005 and 2008, production potensial of rice,
buffaloes, goats, chiken, sheep, duck, eggs and squid increased, while
other commodities declined. In order to DDP score (64.9) can be
achieved in 2012, the amount of food needed namely: cereals (207,555.7
ton), tubers (14,961.7 ton), animal food (31,724.5 ton), oil and fats
(11,873.8 ton), oil fruits / seeds (42,268.5 ton), beans (7913.4 ton), sugar
(9973.2 ton) and vegetables and fruit (67,349.8 ton). Actual food
production potential in 2008 that have not not capable to fulfill the target
of providing ideal food in 2012 namely: sweet potatoes, ruminant meat,
eggs, fish, coconut, sugar, peanut, soybean and fruits, while other
commodities have capable to fulfill the target of providing ideal food.
