Abstracts: For the last few years avian influenza or bird’s flu has been a
global issue, especially in Indonesia. Oseltamivir carboxylate (tamiflu),
amantidin, dan rimantidin had been pledged as drugs for bird flu.
Unfortunately, those drugs becomes very expensive and hard to get,
moreover, the latest researchs had showed intedication of resistancy to
these drugs. Traditional medicine has been used by Indonesian people
for many years, but scientific research concerning this subject were
umited, especially the activity as antiviral. An extract of beluntas leaves
were divided in an amount by volume, which were 10%, 20%, and 30%.
This study shoud an extract of beluntas in amount 20% showed better
better ability to inhibit virus replication from others exneat until day 3
post infection.
