Abstract: Natural Zeolites in general have a low catalytic activity that needs to be activated before use Methods of activation in this study using acid and combinations with different activation temperatures. This study aimed to obtain information about the characteristics of natural zeolite is activated and not activated. Activation of zeolite caused a decrease in the composition of aluminum (Al) in all samples of zeolites which are activated by acid and combinations of 1.91% decreased to 0:17 to 0:38%. Decrease in the composition of Al in zeolite (dealumination) causes an increase in the ratio of Si/Al in all samples of natural zeolite, an activated acid having Si/Al ratio is high, ie between 14:27 until 33.81. The number of acid from all samples of activated zeolite treatment ranged 0.92-4 mmol/g.
