Abstract: The research objective is to examine household hunger eradicate model in North Sumatera. This research was conducted on December 2008 until November 2009 used cross sectional study. The locations of this research are Medan Denai and Medan Kota Sub district, Medan District, North Sumatera Province. The sample taken by stratified random sampling of 120 families. Data collected in the form of socio-economic characteristics data, consumption and household food security. t test is used to examine the difference of socioeconomic between hunger and no hunger household. Goal programing analysis used to analysis optimalisation of under five nutrition in foor household. The results showed that the prevalence of hunger household are 20.8%. per capita food expenditure in poor household is Rp 4 427.9,-. Goal programing is the solution giving adequate energy and protein levela between 90-110%, and >77 % for vitamis and minerals
