Abstract: The aims of this study to determine the coliform bacteria on milkfish (Chanos chanos) in the fish auction Gorontalo city. The method used in this test was participant observation. Object of observation is the population of milkfish (Chanos chanos) in the City of the fish auction. Coliform bacteria testing is done in 2 stages trials that test the predictions by using the LTB (Lauryl Tryptose Broth) and continued to test the assertion by using BGLB (Brilliant Green Lactose Bile Broth). The test results showed that the combination of a tube with sample from seller 1 for dilution 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 as of positive tubes are 2, 2, 2, sample 02 for dilution 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 countless positive tubes are 3, 2, 2 and 03 sample code for dilution 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 as of positive tubes were 2, 1, 2. the amount of coliform at MPN (Most Probable Number) table showed, the seller 1 (sample code 01) were 35 g, sellers 2 (sample code 02) as much as 210 g and 3 sellers (sample code 03) as much as 27 g. This number indicates that milkfish (Chanos chanos) in the fish auction Gorontalo city is still marketable and suitable for consumption.
