Abstract : Dwarf Grass is a kind of forage which developed new in Indonesia
especially in North Sulawesi. This research was conducted at BPTP Sulut
research station in June-October 2004. The treatments are defoliation age
(U1=45 HST, U2=60 HST, U3=70 HST), with five replicates. There’s 15
experimental blocks. Use the Trend Monitoring Design for growth observation
and use the completely randomized design for observation the difference of
production among the treatments. The result can be shown that crops, the
amount of clumps, leafs (amount, long and width) have an accretion
significantly (P <0,01) for six weeks after planting. Defoliation age have a
influence significantly regarding to fresh weight dan dry weight of grass, blade
size (diammeter) and comparison between leaf fraction and blade of grass.
Defoliation 75 HST have a highest production of fresh weight and dry weight of
grass (45.65 and 7.98 ton/ha). But Defoliation 45 HST have an abillity of
regrowth with 27.5 in average. And so do, the defoliation 45 HST have a highest
comparison leaf fraction between blade fraction.
